Found Pets
If you find an animal in Montgomery County here are the steps we encourage you to take:
1. Contact The ARC to file a found animal report.2. Scan for a microchip and check for licensing tags. If you find a microchip, call the numbers associated with the account and leave messages.
If you have found an animal that doesn’t have a microchip or a license we encourage the following:
3. Contact SICSA (937.294.6505) and The Humane Society of Greater Dayton (937.268.7387) to let them know that you have found the animal.
4. Post on Petco Love Lost - all 3 of the shelters locally use this page to report found pets, as well as advertise their adoptable pets. This is the best way to get visibility for the pet.
5. If you are able to help the pet by fostering short term, please contact The ARC to let them know you have a found pet and are willing to foster. You can also reach out to local rescues who will oftentimes help if you are able to foster.
In addition to posting any lost or found animals on Petco Love Lost, we suggest posting on your local social media sites like neighborhood pages, on the Ring community page, and on all of the local “Lost and Found Pet Dayton” pages.Lost and Found | Humane Society of Greater Dayton
